Friends and family will gather Thursday for the funeral of Botham Shem Jean, the man shot and killed a week ago in his apartment by an off-duty Dallas police officer who said she mistook the unit for her own.  

The case against a white Dallas police officer who shot and killed a black neighbor in his home will be presented to a grand jury, which could decide on more serious charges than manslaughter, the district attorney overseeing the case said Monday. 

Dallas police on Saturday identified the off-duty officer who shot a neighbor in his own home as Amber Guyger, who has been with the department for four years.
